1. Information we may handle

Information you choose to provide

If you contact us by email or telephone, we receive the details and message you choose to share, such as your name, email address, telephone number, organisation and enquiry.

Article visit counts

Article pages use an aggregate counter that records the page identifier and total number of visits. Engineering Sarathi does not use this custom counter to build individual visitor profiles.

Technical information

Our hosting, security and delivery infrastructure may process ordinary technical data needed to serve and protect the website, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested page, date and time, and diagnostic or security events.

2. How information is used

Information may be used to:

• deliver, maintain, secure and troubleshoot the website;
• respond to questions, feedback and collaboration enquiries;
• understand aggregate engagement with articles and resources;
• improve content, tools and website performance; and
• meet a legal obligation or protect legitimate rights and safety.

3. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

The website and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to deliver pages, remember choices, protect the service, measure aggregate use and, when advertising is enabled, select and measure ads.

The PPMO notice popup uses local browser storage to remember that a visitor dismissed a particular notice. The stored value contains the notice identifier and dismissal time; Engineering Sarathi does not use it to identify the visitor. Browser settings can be used to delete or block stored data, although doing so may cause the notice to appear again.

4. Google AdSense and advertising

Engineering Sarathi may use Google AdSense to display advertising. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies in a visitor's browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers as a result of ad serving.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve personalised ads based on visits to Engineering Sarathi and other sites on the Internet. Non-personalised ads may still use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, fraud prevention and contextual ad selection.

5. Consent and regional privacy choices

In particular, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland may be shown a Google-certified consent message before advertising technologies are used for purposes that require consent. Withdrawing or changing consent does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before the change. Visitors can reopen available privacy choices through the controls supplied with the advertising message or adjust browser and Google account settings.

6. When information may be shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to hosting, security, advertising and technical service providers only as needed to provide their services; disclosed where required by law or a valid official process; or sent to a third-party service when you choose to follow an external link or use a share button.

Google, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, YouTube and other external services operate under their own privacy terms. Engineering Sarathi does not control what those services collect after you leave the site or choose to use their features. Data handled by a provider may be processed in countries other than the visitor's own, subject to that provider's safeguards and terms.

7. Retention and security

Contact correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably useful for the enquiry, ongoing working relationship, record-keeping or a legal requirement. Technical, consent and advertising records are retained according to the practices of the relevant service provider and applicable requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and requests

You may browse without contacting us and can avoid third-party sharing links. You can manage browser cookies and local storage, use the advertising controls described above, and decline optional processing where a consent message provides that choice.

You may also ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you previously sent, or object to or restrict its use where applicable, subject to legal, security and record-keeping requirements. We may need enough information to verify and action the request.

9. Children’s privacy

The website provides general professional and educational information and is not directed specifically to children. Please do not send personal information about a child unless it is appropriate and authorised.

We may update this page when the website, its service providers or applicable requirements change. The latest date at the top shows when the policy was revised.
